lann na Fhaoil-Choin
is an Albanach (Scottish) treubh (tribe) formed in 1995 in the North Central
Texas region, mainly around the Fort Worth area. This was a result of
our interest in learning about and following a Celtic and. more specifically,
traditional Albanach cultural and spiritual life path. |
e are founded primarily in the continuum of Albanach traditions, and we draw primarily from them. We also draw heavily from the traditions of Eire, as their has allways been significant history and exchange between our peoples. Secondary sources are the wider range of "Celtic" traditions of Cymru, Briton, and Gaul. For the Albanach of the northern and western Isles and the northern Highlands there has also existed a history and connection with the Norse, and so some of their traditions are imbedded, and can be found, in ours. The history and myths of our people teach us that the land has memory, and so we therefore freely accept and honor the native spiritual concepts that have come to us. e are a gathering of families, come together from many backgrounds to celebrate our heritage, to honor the old gods, to honor the ways of our ancestors, to keep alive Albanach tradition, and to honor the memory of our land. We are Gaels, walking an old path in a new time. |
